Constantinos Contos

After serving as a sea captain, Constantinos Contos started World Wide Ship Repair that served ships on the in Brooklyn, NY

  • Constantinos begins the transformation of World Wide Ship Repair & World Wide Metric is born.

  • World Wide Metric relocates to Somerset, NJ to concentrate on wholesale distribution to the marine and industrial markets.

  • 1989

    World Wide Metric opens its second location in Houston, Texas to manage the Gulf Region & South America.

  • 1991

    WWM opens its third location Long Beach, California in order to serve the Western Region & Pacific Rim.

  • 2000

    After successfully building the company, Constantinos passes the helm to the second generation - George, Anthee and Theo Contos.

  • 2004

    WWM opens its fourth location in Ft. Lauderdale, FL to manage the southeast, Caribbean, and South America.

  • 2008

    After experiencing global growth, World Wide Metric headquarters is moved to a larger facility in Branchburg, NJ.

  • 2019

    To accommodate the growing cruise market, WWM moves its Florida location into a larger facility in Davie, FL.

  • 2020

    World Wide Metric celebrates 50 years of Keeping the World Flowing!

  • 2025
