| Founded in 1970,
World Wide Ship Repairs in Brooklyn, New York, faced
the daily dilemma of working on foreign built ships
with no metric replacement parts available state side.
The use of telex was the standard and the word Metric
was not. It was then that the first shipments of metric
Japanese (JIS) and European
(DIN) standard valve
and flanges first made their home in America and World
Wide Metric was born.
By 1986, World Wide Metric moved from Brooklyn, New
York to Somerset, New Jersey and its focus shifted
from ship repair and supply to wholesale distribution.
In 1989, WWM opened its second distribution center
in Houston, Texas to manage the gulf region and South
America. WWM opened its third distribution center
in 1991, which is currently located in Long Beach,
California, to manage the western region and Pacific
Rim. In 2004, WWM has opened its forth distribution
center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to manage the Southeastern,
Caribbean and South American region.
Today, World Wide Metric is a leader in the industry
by providing prompt service of quality products to
Marine and Industrial customers around the world.
We continue our dedication and commitment to consistently
better serve you in the future.
